Chamber Music

Katherine has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the UK’s finest soloists such as Susan Milan and Anna Stokes. She was a regular member of the Locrian Ensemble and can be heard performing on many of their releases. She describes her dream coming true as the experience allowed her to showcase her talent and collaborate with other exceptional musicians. Her performances are always a testament to her dedication and hard work.

Katherine believes that she owes her enjoyment and success in chamber music to her first piano teacher, Jean Hodgkiss. Jean instilled in Katherine the principles of the art of accompaniment and collaborative performance in chamber ensembles from a very young age. Katherine was just starting to play “hands together” when Jean began to teach the accompaniment skills which became the foundation of Katherine’s musical career.

At the tender age of 8, Katherine performed her first piano concerto, “A Little Concerto” by Geoffrey Bush. The experience gave Katherine the confidence to go on to perform in various musical groups. She continued to refine her craft throughout her school and university years, collaborating with many instrumentalists in duos and chamber ensembles of various sizes.

Katherine’s collaborators appreciate her impeccable technique, superb music reading and her unwavering passion for making music.
